Technical Seminar on ” The Implications of Sulphur Cap” was jointly organized by IMarEST and Nautical Institute Dhaka Branch. Key Note paper was presented by Mr. Ken Rottor , CEng, FIMarEST and Ex- Chief Engineer of Bangladesh Marine Academy. TS was held on 26th Jan 2019 at Hotel Sarina, Dhaka , from 1530 hrs to 1800 hrs. Turnout was good, specially among the senior members from Ist Batch to 16th Batch of BMA Cadets.
Implications due to international regulation limiting the Sulphur emission from 3.5% to 0.5% for all Ocean going vessel by 2020 on Ship Owners, Refineries, total global trade etc , was discussed thoroughly among the participants. Though dead line is approaching quite fast, high concern of uncertainty has been raised among the participant due to lack of preparedness from the stake holders.
